Thank you for your past generous support of CAPstone Child Advocacy Center and the CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) program through your sponsorship of the annual Light of Hope fundraiser.
Last year the COVID- 19 virus forced us to cancel our traditional community fundraiser that has historically hosted over 400 people. This year we are back on Thursday, September 2, 2021! The event will be held at the Gering Civic Center as a Business After Hours Event (5:00-7:00 PM, speaker starts at 5:30 PM) with the Chamber of Commerce. Hors d’oeuvres will be provided, and a cash bar will be available.
Our speaker this year is Nicole Abbott, Nebraska CASA Champion and former foster youth. Her experience being removed from her childhood home and having multiple placements was very traumatizing. With the support of her CASA and other advocates, Nicole rose above challenges and today is thriving at Bellevue University. Nicole recently won the title of Miss Nebraska U.S. International and competed at Miss U.S. International. We look forward to welcoming Nicole to our community for the event and hearing her story!
We are grateful for your support in the past and would appreciate your sponsorship of the 2021 Light of Hope Event. Donations will be used for training and supervising volunteers for the CASA program, and for supplementing mental health counseling needs for non-offending caregivers whose abused or neglected children are seen at CAPstone. Should you make the decision to sponsor the Light of Hope again this year, we will include your business or individual name on event programs and in the event PowerPoint. To ensure we have time to include your information, please respond with your commitment by Monday, August 16, 2021.
